Aachen

Standort mosaica in Aachen

The air of Aquis Granum, as Aachen was once called, is filled with the sweet scent of spiced biscuits known as Printen. The sulphurous breath of thermal springs which reach up to 74?C and the spirit of Charlemagne, pervades throughout.

Together they bring the flair of a European city from the heart of which rises its impressive cathedral, built by the great emperor Charlemagne himself.

The Euroregion

Standort Aachen in der Euregio Maas-Rhein

Aachen is located in the area where Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands meet.
The Euroregion (which also includes the cities of Maastricht, NL and Li?ge, B) is home to 3.8 million people who operate routinely across the borders in many collaborative activities.

Thanks to the day-to-day co-operation between the varying cultures and languages with their national and regional influences (not to mention the impact of the fast-growing international community), visitors and guests can experience at first hand the form a border-crossing European future can take and how it can be lived out. Additional advantages are the wide network of cross-border connections in the fields of education and science and the region?s close proximity to Amsterdam, Brussels, Cologne, D?sseldorf, Eindhoven, Li?ge, London and Paris.
